I am officially a Soccer Mom

Tonight was Ty's very first soccer game.  He was on top of the world, in spite of it feeling like we were on top of the sun, it was hot.  He had tons of fun, and he had tons of people there to watch him run around aimlessly following the mass of kids kicking around the ball.  He only ran off the field crying once and he claims that it was because he got kicked in the head.  It wasn't to serious, nothing a big drink of water and a high five couldn't fix.  It was really a good time watching him, I even caught myself yelling at him to "RUN TY RUN!!! GET THE BALL!!"  And then it hit me, I am totally a Soccer Mom, (minus the minivan, sorry minivan friends) and I love it!  So dang proud of my little man.  If you can't tell by this mass of pictures.

Did you get a picture of my number Momma?

When I went to take his picture while he was being the goalie he graciously smiled, when I kept taking his picture he said, "Mom I really need to keep my eye on the ball here!" He told me tonight that his favorite part was being the goalie because he just loves red!  After the soccer game we inhaled some dinner and Ben went to the shop to work on his truck.  He has been assembling it all week!

Only a few more hours and it will be done!  Can I just say I am head over heals for that handsome gear head.  How could you not love a man that can tear an engine to pieces and put it all back together, and have it work.  Not just work, but work better, work properly.  He is a genius I tell ya, genius.

Ty, Ally and I walked home just as it was getting dark.  There was a little breeze and the temperature was perfect.  It might have been my favorite part of the day.  That was until Ty wanted to push the stroller but wasn't pushing it anywhere and I finally said I am pushing the stroller.  Then a tired sweaty fit ensued which included my son telling me (while doing his best fake cry) that now he just had to walk because he had nothing, nothing but legs.  I giggled all the way home, which only made him more mad, such a tough life, nothing but legs and a mean Mother (that's what he calls me when he is mad), I sure hope he survives!

Also yesterday was my Moms Birthday! Happy Birthday Mom!  I love these pictures of her and Ty, they are from a few weeks ago.  It pretty much says everything you need to know, they are best buddies.  He would usually rather be with her than anyone else on the planet, and I think a lot of the time the feeling is mutual. Anyways hope you had a great birthday Mom, we love you a whole bunch and couldn't make it even one day without you!

Waylon Cade

When my friend Nicole asked me If I could take a few pictures of her little man I was super excited.  He is near and dear to my heart, his Momma is one of my best friends and he was born just a few months before Ally girl.  And he's really super cute.... his big blue eyes just melt me.  It had to share a few of his pictures.  We took them in the same spot as the ones I took of Ty and Ally, so if they look familiar that's why, maybe someday I will branch out, maybe...

I have been playing with this last picture most of the day.  I love love love it, I just can't get it to look "right".  I wish I was better at editing in Photoshop,  I just don't know enough to get the results I want.  Oh well, I am still pretty happy with these cute pictures of this handsome little man.  Hope his Momma likes them, and his Grandpa, he is the one who requested new photos.  You silly grandparents who want to show your little people off, you are as bad as me!

Randomness

Can I just say that I can't believe August is already half over? What the heck? Anyway, I have been telling myself for a week that I have nothing to blog about. That and I have been fighting with blogger because apparently it doesn't like my big fat huge pictures and doesn't want to store anymore of them unless I pay them.  That problem totally blindsided me and I thought my blogging days might be over forever.  Thank goodness Miss Marion called and saved me! I really am not smart enough to do this without ya all.  They say it takes a village to raise a child, apparently it also takes one for me to blog:)  So I am finally going to attempt a post today, can't promise much,  I still can't think of to much that is blog worthy, hence the title.

A few weeks ago I called Ben while he was still at work, it was a Saturday morning.  I said the same thing I always say when he answered the phone "Hey! How's it going?"  If only his answer had been the same it almost always is, which is "good! how about you?".  No, today his answer was "Not good"... naturally my response was "oh no.. whats up?" After a brief description of the problem it was understood that the engine in his truck was probably a goner.  Last summer after I had Ally and I decided not to go back to work, we sold our vehicles and bought ones we would have no payments on.  It was a sad day, I cried, a lot.  Remember? I am a car girl... I am pretty picky about what I drive and how it looks, I have to pick out my own wheels and tires, and I must have window tint within 30 days of purchase.  And if you think that's bad then you clearly haven't met Ben, he is like a million times worse than I am.  Anyways I will get back on track here.  So we found Ben a Ford truck that he really liked, after a whole bunch (months people) of searching.  We knew when we bought it that the engine in that particular year was notorious for failing.  But Ben is a mechanical genius remember? He can fix anything.  He really thought that if he stayed on top of it and did all the preventative maintenance that he could, then we would be fine.  Plus a few of the items that usually go wrong had already gone out and been fixed by a Ford Dealer and the guy even had all the receipts to prove it.  Also it was in perfect condition, seriously it looked like it had never even been sat in, even though the odometer clearly told a different story.  And last, we were working on a pretty small budget, and we were able to get this truck for a really good deal. Anyways, back to current day, Ben tore the whole thing apart and it turns out the engine can be fixed.  It's not going to be cheap, but it will be thousands less than it would be if we had to pay someone to fix it.  Good thing Ben is a grease monkey.  So, today the poor Ford looks like this...

Does it give you anxiety? I know it looks like chaos, but it's not.  Well not entirely, Ben is pretty dang organized when it comes to stuff like this.  It's really important that it all goes back together exactly how it came apart, not just close, exactly. He knows what he is doing, I promise, cause he has done stuff like this a lot, and yes it still amazes me.  But it doesn't keep me awake at night like it used to, although I think this project might be keeping him up.  The timing wasn't great, he would have had more time this winter, but ahh, such is life.

OK moving on, Ty started soccer this week.  He is really excited and he asks everyone if they want to come watch his practice.  And practice is pretty hilarious, he has no idea what he is doing, but hey, he is having a good time.  He has been waiting to play soccer for months.  After his first practice he told me he didn't want to play anymore, I asked him why and he said because it's too short, I want to stay longer.

And finally I have a bunch of pictures that I love and want to post that have nothing to do with anything:)

Ally fell asleep in her high chair this week, it's her new napping spot.  I couldn't help but snap her picture.  She still looks like a baby from this angle, I could just eat those cheeks and lashes up!

We borrowed a helmet for Ty so he could ride the 4 wheeler with Grandma while camping this weekend, he thinks it makes him SUPER cool, really it just makes him SUPER sweaty! But he is kicking butt at riding his bike with no training wheels and Ben and I are pretty proud of him.

My daughter thinks she is super cool too.  One day this week she was finishing her lunch and she took a big drink from her sippy cup, when she was done she let out a big fake "AAAARRRPPP".  Really??? My 16 month old little GIRL fake burps after she takes a drink? pretty much, wonder where she learned that??

This is my favorite picture in recent history, OK, since last week.  I am not sure what this expression is but I feel like it's how I probably look most of the time!  And there you have it, one totally random post just in time for the weekend.  Wish me better luck next week.  Happy weekend.

My 2 little loves..

Last year on my Mom's birthday I threw my kids on my bed and took some pictures of them.  She needed some new ones and her Birthday seemed like a good occasion, apparently there needs to be one for me to take any decent pictures of them.  Anyway, I thought they turned out pretty cute.  Even though Ally was only 4 months old and less than cooperative.

So fast forward to this year, where I am ahead of the game a few weeks, yay me!  I took the kids out on the grass last night and pretty much just let them be them.  I am pretty much over the moon about how it all turned out.  I have never had any pictures of them together of them that I love, until now, and now I am definitely in love!!  (Sorry to spoil part of your birthday present Mom, but I can't resist posting these)

I can just see this picture in their wedding videos, her choking him and laughing about it!  I wrote about how these two are the best of friends in Ally's birthday post.  They really are.  Ally thinks Ty is the coolest cat around.  She is always REALLY excited to see him.  He loves her a whole bunch too.  Unless she is changing the channel when he is watching cartoons, then I hear a stern sounding "Ally J" being hollered, followed by "Mommmmmaaaaaa".  They definitely have their moments, but I am still really really proud of them for being such good friends.  And mostly at this point I am proud of that handsome little man behind that gorgeous smile.  He is an awesome big brother, such a good little man that one.  I hope one day Ally realizes how lucky she is, almost as lucky as me!

PS - Happy Birthday Grandpa Jeff! We Love You!
