There is no excuse. OK there are a few but I will spare you. I was really planning on keeping up with the blogging business. I am going to do better. Haha. So I guess I will tell the tales that I have pictures of. I have been slacking in the picture dept lately also. Another vow to do better, another haha. First my son was going crazy wanting to decorate our house for Christmas. Since we were going on vacation two weeks before Christmas and we always get a real tree we opted to wait and put it up after we got home. So I found every thing else and had him and Ally "help" me decorate. We went super crazy.
A: Christmas quilt and sign in the entry.
B: A wreath on the front door and a few windows.
Done. Lame but oh well, my children, err, child, seemed content with our
Christmasyness (yes I totally just made that word up, and I'm going with it, don't judge me)
I felt a little bad that I was such a Bah Humbug Mom so I let Ty get this Gingerbread House and he was freaking out waiting to decorate it. Finally family night came.
Everything was going fine until Ben squeezed the frosting bag and it popped and made a mess on top of the ginger bread tree. The delight on Ty's face is my favorite, pure frosting joy.
I finished three quilts, of which I only have awesome cell phone pictures.
This is the one I made for my Best Friend since I was 3, Bri and her new hubby Josh.
(Sorry, it was soooo much better in person,
also a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart to my amazing friend Cindy,
this quilt would not have happened with out her.)
Every year I make a quilt for Mountain View Hospital and they sell raffle tickets to earn money for Sub for Santa. You can buy tickets for this beauty near the gift shop until tomorrow around noon I think. This one was a little hard to give up, it turned out sooo dang cute. Also, it wouldn't have happened without Cindy, seriously, she's beyond amazing, I'm telling ya, I don't deserve her.
The third was a long shot, I really wanted to make Ally a doll quilt for Christmas to go with the little wood cradle I bought at a yard sale this summer. The cradle has been stacked in the garage waiting for me to sand and paint it, but I'm glad because I think it will be a fun Christmas present, if I get it done that is.
The whole thing only measures 20x23. Its a little thing, I used a mini charm pack of 2.5" squares and sewed them up into half square triangles, I thought it was maybe going to be a little painful, but it was so fun, and it worked up really fast. I am in love with how it turned out. I was going to paint the cradle black to match Ally's crib but now I am thinking maybe it should be Aqua or yellow (or green, or pink or red, or gray......). What do y'all think?
My Friend Bri got married on December 7, at a beautiful restaurant in Salt Lake. It was a small wedding and can I just tell you, it was gorgeous!!! So simple and so elegant.
Congratulations Bri and Josh, I wish you both more Happiness than you can imagine, you both deserve it so very much. I love you, thank you for inviting us to share your beautiful day with you.
